FAQs

Who runs camp at Nurture

In general, Becky or Dinah plus an assistant will run camp each day! That’s two teachers per our already small class size (max of 8 kids!) in order to give everyone enough attention and assistance.

What ages does Nurture accept?

We have divided our classes into younger kids (k-2nd) and older kids (3-5th+). These are not hard and fast rules, but kids are expected to be able to listen, be respectful, follow directions carefully, and be bathroom independent. Children younger than 5 will likely not quite be ready to enjoy camp, but we are open to welcoming them if you feel strongly that they will be comfortable.

How much does camp cost?

Camp at Nurture is $450/week per child. The week of July 4th, camp is shorter but it is also the week with the most expensive camp session on a supply basis, and is $400.

Is camp half day or full day?

Our weekly camps are half day, from 9am-12pm!

Is lunch provided or should we pack our own?

We provide a small healthy and typically certified organic pre-packaged snack during the day. You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch for your child if you would like, but please note there may be allergy restrictions all campers must observe. You will be notified in advance about this. Our snack offering will be at a minimum gluten free and peanut free. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

My child has a topical or food allergy; can Nurture accommodate us?

While we will do everything in our power to ensure your child does not come into contact with an allergen, please be aware that we will regularly interact with plant oils, soils, leaves, flowers and other materials found in nature. If your child has a severe or life threatening allergy, please reach out to make sure this specific camp is the right fit.

Where is Nurture located?

Nurture is located at 3144 Dumbarton Street NW in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. Camp is held generally indoors, though we may go outside or on field trips (in the neighborhood, including the Georgetown Waterfront) if weather permits.

What is your cancellation policy?

Early bird reservations purchased at a discount are non-refundable. Regular registration may be canceled for a full refund 45 calendar days in advance of the start date for each camp. With cancelation between 44 and 30 days notice, a 50% refund will be provided. There are no refunds for camp with less than 30 days notice.
